Claim Us: Somatic First Aid for Everyday Relationships; with Lorie

Welcome to this 2 hour workshop where we will learn together about Claiming Each Other’s method of Somatic First-Aid for Everyday Relationships.

Through storytelling and somatic practices, you will be introduced to our unique method, its real-life applications and what it means to really ‘CLAIM US’ when things get tough.

No touch is exchanged between participants in this workshop, but you will be invited into some gentle movement and somatic explorations with both yourself and others in the group. 

We intend that you leave the workshop with some early interventions to ‘stop the bleeding’ in relational conflicts as a first step to be a more healing presence in your everyday relationships.

During this 2 hour introductory workshop you will:

• Be introduced to Claiming Each Other’s (CEO) model of Somatic First-Aid

• Learn about and practice relational intelligence, embodied conflict skills and how to be a healing presence from a holistic, mindbody perspective

• Receive preliminary tools to ‘stop the bleeding’ in order to reduce harm in yourself and others when faced with conflict, intensity, trauma or stress.

About Lorie:

Lorie is an aspiring elder, future ancestor, mother, wife, daughter and friend. As an afro-boricua-lipan apache- chicana- americana woman of complexity, she leans deep into the rich tapestries of wisdom from her cultures and landscapes of origin to  support her in being a healing and more healed presence in the world. Lorie has been trained as a somatic trauma therapist, scar tissue specialist, somatic bodyworker, somatic sex educator and herbalist while also practicing as a traditional healing medicine woman in respect to her indigenous lineages.
