Jivamukti Journey
Jivamukti Yoga/Vinyassa-Krama with Diana
Description
This class draws inspiration from the Jivamukti Yoga method. It's a physical, ethical, and spiritual practice, combining a vigorous, Hatha-Vinyasa-Krama asana style with adherence to five central tenets: Nada (Sound), Shastra (Scriptures), Ahimsa (Non-violence), Bhakti (Devotion) and Dhyana (Meditation). Sessions blend chanting, flowing sequences, hands-on assists, breath awareness, spiritual teachings, and meditation. Set to a powerful eclectic soundtrack, ranging from electronic rhythms to classical and devotional music, this practice fosters a deeper connection between the physical and spiritual. While variations are offered for different levels, the class assumes a familiarity with yoga asanas and concepts, making it an enriching journey for those ready to deepen their practice. *** IMPORTANT: Classes are best for intermediate and advanced students, although beginners as well as anyone with a sense of adventure are welcome! Please do not eat at least 2 hours prior to the class and hydrate before, as we aim not to drink water during the class. Classes may include hands-on assists, the use of natural essential oils, balms or creams (applied optionally by the teacher), live or recorded music, instruments (such as harmonium, shruti box, bells), incense, and candles. If you have any allergies, sensitivities, personal boundaries, or are pregnant (or planning to be), please inform the teacher before class. Some practices may not be suitable during pregnancy. Your comfort, safety, and consent are always honoured.
