Yin & Nidra
Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra with Faith
Description
A class that feels like a mini-retreat: rejuvenate and nourish yourself at the start of the week through the practices of Yin & Nidra. Yin Yin is a quiet, meditative form of yoga with roots in Taoist philosophy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Hatha yoga. Longer-held poses encourage deep release and transformation, with the practice centred around three key principles: finding an appropriate edge (settling into a pose without forcing), holding the pose for time (typically several minutes), and committing to stillness (relaxing the muscles to target deep connective tissues, such as fascia, ligaments, and joints). These principles help deepen the stretch, encourage introspection, and cultivate a sense of release and peace, reconnecting you with the body’s innate wisdom. Yoga Nidra A guided meditative practice that leads you into a profound state of relaxation, exploring the liminal space between wakefulness and sleep. Through body scanning, intention, breath awareness, and visualisation, it allows you to release physical, mental, and emotional tension. This deeply restorative practice promotes healing, enhances self-awareness, and can help reduce stress, improving overall well-being.
